At the centre, I always tell students and parents how important it is to learn independently. I kept telling them, once they're confident with their work, everything else will be easier.
Recently, I signed up to join a gym. It's a big gym, and the minute I walked in for the "orientation", I actually got scared. So many machines, so many sweaty people that seem to know what they're doing and all the updated machines with personal TV and music....got me excited...but still very intimidated.
Coming home, I realized....that's how the new students must have felt on orientation day. So I must not intimidate them and I should always remind myself that it can be scary!
